Semantic User Interface

Even though there isn't an exact definition for semantic user interface, the semantic web definition can be generalized.

We define it as a machine-understandable user interface, meaning that the machine knows each concept appearing in the UI, the relations between concepts, the possible actions that can be taken in each case, etc. That is, the machine understands the concepts behind the user interface.

Nowadays user interfaces are flattened, hiding their semantics, which is lost in the development stage. In semantic user interfaces this information is not lost at design time and can be shared by the machine, the user and the developer at runtime.
